Wide Bay Social Work Services offers Specialised Mental Health counselling support from our Accredited Mental Health Social Worker.
Our Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) is eligible to provide services through the Commonwealth-funded Better Access to Mental Health Care and Chronic Diseases Management (Enhanced Primary Care) programs. Our Accredited Mental Health Social Worker has experience in assessing and treating people who have mental health disorders, for example people with:

Our Accredited Mental Health Social Worker helps individuals to resolve their presenting psychological problems, the associated social and other environmental problems, and improve their quality of life. This may involve family as well as individual counselling, and group therapy. Our Accredited Mental Health Social worker recognises the broader implications of an individual having a mental illness and the impact on friends, family, work and education.
Like other allied health professionals, such as psychologists, our Accredited Mental Health Social Worker uses a range of interventions in helping people with mental health disorders, including the following focused psychological strategies:

See your Doctor, Paediatrician or Psychiatrist for a mental health care plan and referral to our Accredited Mental Health Social Worker. You may be eligible for up to 10 visits per calendar year.
These services are available in our office or your own home.
Where other service providers may charge a gap, Wide Bay Social Work Services offers full bulk billing to all clients under this program.
