Wide Bay Social Work Services can accept DVA and Medicare referrals under various programs. Wide Bay Social Work Services does not charge a gap fee for any of these services and your DVA or Medicare card is accepted as full payment in these instances.
For eligible clients referred under Medicare or DVA programs, your service is 100% bulk billed. There is no out of pocket expense to you.
All eligible services provided under Medicare or DVA are fully bulk billed. All other services are charged at an hourly rate. Our Counselling, Professional Supervision and Employee Assistance Program is $75 per hour. Our Community Services program is tailor made to suit your needs and will be discussed during your complimentary initial consultation.
Your confidentiality is important to us. We will discuss consent during the initial appointment. Wide Bay Social Work Services uses a secure access with Medicare Australia. In addition, all paper records are secured in locked filing cabinets. Wide Bay Social Work Services has a privacy policy available to all clients upon request. Wide Bay Social Work adheres to the Australian Government Privacy Principles.
In addition, as a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers, I am bound by their Code of Ethics which can be found on their website www.aasw.asn.au
For services provided under Medicare or DVA, your Medicare card, Gold or white DVA card are accepted as full payment.
For other services, we accept cash or credit card. Payment is required at the commencement of your session. Please speak with us if you would like to pay via bank transfer.
Wide Bay Social Work considers any appointment that you have made with them, important. Your appointment is for your exclusive use and when it is cancelled with short notice or missed altogether, it is often too late or impossible to offer this time to someone else, and the appointment time goes unfilled.
As a result, Wide Bay Social Work requires 24hrs notice for appointment cancellations or rescheduling. A cancellation fee of $50 dollars applies if you do not attend for your scheduled appointment and have not notified the office via phone, text or email. This fee must be paid prior to or at your next visit. Please note there is no Medicare rebate available for the cancellation fee. If you have any concerns or questions in relation to this policy, please talk to our friendly staff.
Wide Bay Social Work Services will make initial contact via phone when we receive your referral and your first scheduled visit can generally happen within 7 days. For those who are self referring, we generally have appointments available within 7 days. We are flexible and have availability after hours and weekends if required.
We have an office available for appointments in the Bundaberg Business Enterprise Centre. In addition, Wide Bay Social Work Services is mobile and can see you in your own home, hospital, aged care facility or other location (this may not be available under some Medicare or DVA programs without appropriate referral from your medical professional). To receive services under Medicare or DVA, you will require a referral from your medical professional. We have an information pack available for you to take to your medical professional should you require. Please contact us and we can arrange for this to be sent to you.
For all other services, no referral is necessary, simply contact us and we will arrange your first appointment.
Wide Bay Social Work Services is based in Bundaberg. However, as we are mobile and offer a home visit service, our services are available in the Wide Bay Burnett region. Please contact us to find out when we are near you.
